In modem radars, not the false alarm probability in each resolution cell but maximum allowable number of false alarms per a recurrent period (or per a second) is usually fixed. Therefore, the increase of the number of resolution cells that are to be analyzed in each recurrent period leads to the decrease of the allowable false alarm probability in each resolution cell, that is to energy losses in target detection. This is a well-known "price of resolution". Specific features of the "price of resolution" in Multistte Radar Systems (MSRSs) are analyzed. The most popular spatially incoherent MSRSs with decentralized target detection and decision rules of the "k out of m" type are considered. Equations determining energy losses and numerical results are presented.
