Research and advanced technology in the restoration of the monuments of the Athenian Acropolis

The use of temporary technology for the restoration of the monuments along with traditional techniques and methods, is included among the principles of the Chapter of Venice, of the first internationally accepted theoretical framework of principles for interventions on the monuments. In recent years, new perceptions stemming from globalization require the use of modern technology for the protection of the monuments. Advanced technology is utilized more and more during the research and performance phase of the program of protection. The primary concern is to repair their structure and form and to display the historical and artist values they embody.
