Since the early 1970s, Geosynthetic materials have been developed and used as reinforcement in earth-retainingrnstructures. Since then, the use of Geosynthetic’s as reinforcing material for reinforced soil structures has proven to berneconomically attractive based on the many thousands of mechanically stabilized earth (MSE) retaining walls andrnreinforced soil slopes (RSS) successfully completed.rnMines, unlike other facilities usually require tall earth retaining structures. In recent years, these solutions are frequentlyrnused within the mining sector, with excellent results because of their technical and economic characteristics proven inrnmany structures such us retaining walls along primary crushers, dams and tailing deposit containment areas.rnThe performance of reinforced soil retaining structures have demonstrated that they are often an optimum solution forrnmining structures compared to traditional retention solutions, combining structural strength, flexibility, versatility and costrneffectiveness.
