Plastic geomembrane laid vertically in soil layers has been applied to prevent seepage in many fields such as water conservancy, building groundwork and environmental works for decades in China, After it has been laid vertically in soil layers, such defects as its depth do not up to the designing depth, lacerated by sharp stone, there existing blanks between plastics membrane series, maybe lead to seepage. In order to detect those defects with a high-speed non-invasive test method, two-row multi-electrode array has been designed, which based on electrostatic field theory. Measured results with this method show the lower resistivity patterns in measured apparent resistivity section accord to the distributing area of plastic geomembrane and their sizes are corresponding. Measured apparent resistivity would become higher at blank position between plastics series. Sampling array parameter could affect the exploration ability of this method. The measured resistivity section could reveal the depth variation of plastic geomembrane approximately, the position of blank between plastics series veraciously, but not reveal the position of small hole in plastic geomembrane face.
