Conducted EMI emission produced by PWM motor drives

An improved procedure for experimental investigation of conductednelectromagnetic interference (EMI) emission from motor drives, using anvisual instrument, is described. It is found that inverter systemsngenerate considerable impulse current through the power leads feedingnthe system resulting in serious conducted EMI problems and significantnvoltage waveform distortion in the power system. Experimental results innthe time as well as frequency domain are presented and discussed
