RISK ASSESSSMENT

The Task Group on Needs for Future Research in Risk Assessment considered both ionizing radiation and ultraviolet radiation. The discussion and recommendations regarding ionizing radiation are limited mainly to epidemiological and other human studies that currently form the primary basis for human risk assessment. Needs regarding radio-biology and mechanisms of radiation-induced effects are referred to only in general terms; they are developed in more depth by other task groups in this Workshop.
