Expanded bed adsorption (EBA) enables bioproduets to be captured and purified directly from unclarified feed, and therefore has been successfully introduced to the biotechnology industry Adsorbent is the principal "hardware" pillar supporting the successful application of EBA. This paper exploited an anion exchanger for EBA, with TiO2-densified cellulose beads as the matrix, and then applied it to the recovery of α-chloropropionic acid dehalogenase from cell homogenate. It was found that the total enzyme recovery was 68%, with a purification factor of 22.
