A new type of powdery improved ammonium nitrate explosive containing aluminium powder was manufactured by mixing oxidizer, a kind of expanded ammonium nitrate which possesses many micro-pores and self-sensitivity, with reductive agent, which is the mixture of wood powder, composite fuel oil and aluminium powder. By establishing mathematical model for prescription design and optimization of the industrial explosive, solving mathematical model with the aid of computer program, in which the theoretic explosion heat of the explosive was a goal function, and through experimental research, a good formulation of powdery improved ammonium nitrate explosive containing aluminium powder was obtained, the formulation was expanded ammonium nitrate 87%~93%, wood powder 3%~5%, composite fuel oil 2%~4%, aluminium powder 2%~5%. The explosion property parameters of this kind of commercial explosive were detonation velocity 3400~3700 m.s~(-1)(32mm), brisance 15.0~16.5 mm, gap distance 10~12 cm, strength 360~380 ml, charge density 0.92~0.95 g.cm~(-3). The relation between the amount of aluminium powder in explosive and explosion property was also discussed.
