TYPICAL METALLURGICAL FAILURES IN TURBOMACHINERY IN THE PETROCHEMICAL INDUSTRY ― A PRACTICAL OVERVIEW

This paper provides an overview of six failures which occurred on high speed turbine components in a petrochemical plant. Findings of the metallurgical failure investigations are summarised and conclusions drawn from the findings are listed.
