This paper presents the results of ultimate strength analysis of deck-type bridge arches which are composed of curved pair ribs with lateral members. A parametric strudy was carried out by using the elasto-plastic finite displacement method on various theoretical models by changing the ratio of rise-to-span and the distance between right and left hinged arch springings. Ultimate strength of deck-type bridge arches which are composed of curved pair ribs subjected to vertical and horizontal loads are higher than the of ordinary deck-type bridge arches which are composed of parallel twin ribs. It is found that the effects of curved rise-to-span ratios of arch ribs on the ultimate strength are large.
