In this paper, 12 impellers with various blade shapes were tested in the same casing. The outer and inner diameter and the width of these impellers are almost the same. Their inlet and exit blade angles varied. Performance tests and measurements of the flow inlet and exit angle along with their distributions were completed. From these experiments, the best inlet and exit angle for the impeller were decided. Then the inlet and exit flow phenomena were also discussed. The best impeller among them, discussed above, was rotated in the 12 sorts of volute casings with various magnifying angles and circumferential angles. Pressure distributions along the casing were also measured. From these experimental results, the best shape of volute casing to get the best performance was discussed. From these experimental results of impellers and casings, the way to decide the shape of a sirocco fan with the best performance were discussed. Through the discussions of the best impeller and the volute casing, the way to design a sirocco fan was made clear.
