摘要

The genetic algorithm (GA) is used to find an optimal allocation of defensive inteceptors to ballistic missile threats for a missile defense scenario. An objective function is developed based on surviving defended asset value and interceptor cost. Load balancing among interceptor launchers is also considered. A strategy for improving GA performance by increasing the average fitness of the initial population, while retaining desirable randomness, is investigated.
