The blast furnace gas(BFG) is a secondary energy which grows out of the production process of ironmaking.It plays an important role in the energy construction of iron and steel enterprises. The present application situation of BFG in the steel enterprises home and abroad was compared. The key energy saving technology of BFG application was studied, such as dry-type top gas pressure recovery turbine(TRT) technology, gas-steam combined cycle power plant(CCPP) technology with low heat value gas, regenerative high temperature air combustion (HTAC) technology, etc. The effects of these technologies on energy saving and emission reduction in iron and steel works were also analyzed. All these provide the reference for the efficient utilization of BFG in iron and steel enterprises.
