Slope and wind are two of the most relevant factors affecting surface fire spread.rnTheir role is not yet fully understood and present fire prediction models are based on simplernassumptions that do not apply to real fires in the general case. In this study the role of fuelrnmoisture on wind induced rate of spread is analysed. Laboratory experiments of non-alignedrnwind and slope gradient are reported. Fire propagation in non-planar fuel-beds like the case of arncanyon is also analysed.
