Three kinds of targets to reflect the ultrasound beam from a spherical shape focused transducer are discussed. Equations (1), (2) and (3) limit the parameters of a plane target, a cone target, and an upside down cone target in design, respectively. Of course, the discussions do not consider the influences of the size of the reflector. In theory, the larger the size of target is, the better the measurement results is. However, it is unrealistic to choose an unlimited size target. Usually, the size of the reflector is larger than that of the source so that the majority the ultrasound beam is reflected by the target. If the target intercepts the ultrasound beam near the focus, its size can be reduced accordingly. The analysis of these three kinds of reflectors is also suitable for other high power focused ultrasonic sources.
