Because of the variety and complexity of software, there is much need for delegation in the use of software. The proposed ISI model overcomes the problems of direct manipulation interfaces and offers scalability, flexibility and adaptation. This ISI model is a distributed system to help the user to apply software to his tasks. The ISI model consists of user interface agents as butlers, software interface agents as craftsmen, agent management systems as brokers and ontology management systems as interpreters. In this model, complex tasks are accomplished with the cooperative work of agents. We built the ISI model, which is in the heterogeneous environment (MS-Windows 98 and UNIX system) and the user can use MS-Word 97 and LaTeX in a delegated way.
