Review of Oily Sludge Disposal Technologies and Treatment Countermeasures for Ningbo-Zhoushan Area

Large amount of oily sludge is generated every year in oil industry in China, which contains a lot of benzene series, phenols, anthracene, pyrene and other stinking toxic substances. Oily sludge has the form of sufficient emulsified jelly and is difficult to be treated which is regarded as hazardous waste. Several major oil sludge treatment technologies in domestic and abroad were compared, and the principle, application and developing trend of these technologies were reviewed in this paper. The situation and characteristics of oily sludge in Ningbo-Zhoushan area were investigated and analyzed. Select and develop the suitable technology and establish treatment countermeasures in this area were discussed.
