摘要

The coal fly ash is a by-product derived from coal combustion in thermal power plant. It is considered as a potential source of aluminium. In this study, the γ-Al2O3 was prepared using coal fly ash and ammonia solution as precursors. It comprised fly ash activation, hydrochloric acid extraction and chemical precipitation with NH3·H2O. The precursor and γ-Al2O3 obtained were characterized by XRD, TG-DTA and FT-IR. The XRD and FT-IR analysis indicated that the precursor was Al(OH)3. On the basis of TG-DTA analysis, the precursor was calcined at 980℃ for 2h and resulted in the formation of γ-Al2O3.
