Preparation of on exchange ibres from loofah (natural fibre) and their properties

Celluose is a naturaly occurring polymer and is biodegradable. The chemical modification of cellulose has been investigated by many researchers~(1,2,3) and modified celuloses are used for many purposes. Loofah fibre is a natural fibre and it has a strong network structure. The graft copolymerization of vinyl monomers onto loofah fibres has been achieved and their use as adsorbents or antibacterial fibres studied.
