摘要

A new method called Direct Measurement of Vorticity (DMV) for digital particle images is described in this paper. Unlike the previous methods for calculating the vorticity in PIV (Particle Image Velocimetry), the vorticity is determined directly from the average angular displacement of rotation between two matched patterns. Compared with conventional methods, the DMV has less filtering effects on the vorticity field and can detect peak point more accurately.
