AN ENHANCED SUPERPOLL PROTOCOL FOR IEEE 802.11 PCF WITH RATE DIFFERENTIATION

In recent years, the issue of quality of service (QoS) in wireless LANs (WLANs) has been the focus of researches. Previous works usually use different backoff scheme and inter-frame delay to achieve service differentiation. In this paper, we present a protocol that makes use of SuperPoll to achieve better utilization and Deficit Round Robin queuing technique to achieve fairness and service differentiation. Computer simulations show that the protocol can achieve better utilization and service differentiation on the WLANs.
