Evaluation of Adhesion Behavior of Optical Fibers for Sensors Embedded in Cementitious Materials

Fiber-optic strain sensors itnended for embeddment in cementitious matrices should be coated with very thin alkaline-resistant coatings. This is necessary to achieve a reliable strai ntransfer from the matrix to the fiber sensor.
