Oreos 55 : the new electric bus from Ponticelli

Three years ago, two urban electric buses from the French heavy vehicle manufacturing company Ponticelli have been put into service at Montmartre, an historic arrondissement of Paris. The project has been undertaken by the Parisian Transportation Service, the RATP. The buses have proven to be well adapted to this difficult environment. Ponticelli has learned a lot with this experimentation and is now commercializing a new urban electric bus. The main characteristic of that new bus is the combination of the drive system and the charger. Initial testing of the bus was carried out by the manufacturer with Electricite de France (EDF). In this article, we describe the bus and its technical performances measured.
