Since 1992 the Technical Committee of the European Standardization Commission CEN is working for the development of standards for electrically propelled vehicles, as a response to needs of European Automotive Industry.rnThese standards concern procedures for measurement of road operating ability, energy performance and environmental impact of electric and hybrid vehicles as well as prescriptions related to safety aspects.rnStandards related to electric vehicles are already operational. Corresponding ISO standard are developed in harmonization with CEN. Regulation documents for vehicles homologation have been established, based on these standards.rnAspect related to interaction vehicle-mains, such as battery charging issues are treated in cooperation with CENELEC.
