The Vectrix Electric Scooter: Advancing Toward Production Readiness

First unveiled as a prototype at the Electric Vehicle Symposium 14 in December 1997, the Vectrix electric scooter is approaching production readiness. A revolutionary two-wheeled vehicle powered by an electric motor directly coupled to a rear wheel, single stage planetary gearbox, the scooter offers unprecedented performance and attractive styling. Key achievements in the Vectrix development program over the past year include redesign of the motor drive system for increased performance, efficiency, and lower cost, further testing of all scooter structural components, completion of the finite element analysis on structural components, and testing of regenerative braking performance.
