In order to reduce exhaust emissions and carbon dioxide, Isuzu Ceramics Research institute has started to develop a hybrid vehicle composed of a ceramics turbo compound engine, compact motor and generator with permanent magnets rotor, battery, super capacitor and controlling systems. The ceramic engine with heat insulation structure adopts a highly efficient turbine generator to recover increased exhaust energy into electrical power. On the other hand, a special cylinder modulating system is to be used in order to drive the engine at the area with low fuel consumption in the all of load condition.
