Abstract: At the 1989 SPIE meeting in San Diego, a description was given of an application specific integrated circuit (ASIC) charge amplifier and comparator Ball was planning to develop for multi-anode microchannel array (MAMA) detector readout. This paper describes the results of testing the prototype integrated circuits for the Solar Heliospheric Observatory (SOHO) MAMA program. An IC charge amplifier and comparator were designed using a single mask set. Ten charge amplifiers and ten comparators were tested for pulse response and noise performance. All the devices tested met or exceeded model predictions. The Tektronix circuit models for the Quick Chip Six (QC-6) process accurately predicted device performance. !5
