Integrating high spatial resolution of functional magnetic resonancernimaging (fMRI) and high temporal resolution of electroencephalogramrn(EEG) is promising in simultaneous EEGrnand fMRI analysis, especially for epileptic patients. ThernEEG recorded inside an MR scanner is interfered with MRrnartifacts. In this article, we propose new artifact reductionrnapproaches and compare them with the conventional artifactrnreduction methods. Our proposed approaches are based onrngeneralized eigenvalue decomposition (GEVD) and medianrnfiltering. The proposed methods are applied on experimentalrnsimultaneous EEG and fMRI recordings of an epilepticrnpatient. The results show significant improvement over conventionalrnMR artifact reduction methods.
