Reliable classification of spectral peaks as tonal and noiserelatedrnis an important stage of hybrid sinusoidal+noisernmodeling. Spectral peaks of higher harmonics are oftenrnmissed due to their wide frequency spread resulting fromrnpitch variation. Recently introduced fan-chirp transformrnallows for compensating the changes of fundamental frequencyrnin the process of spectral analysis of speech andrnharmonic sounds. In case of polyphonic audio the fundamentalrnis often not unique and/or is hard to estimate. Wernpropose a simple technique for estimation of chirp ratesrnfrom already detected partials to improve the detection ofrnhigher harmonics through the application of frequencyrnwarping and fan-chirp analysis.
