摘要

This paper presents numerical modelling of pipe-soil stresses during pipe jacking in clay. The effects of selected factors on pipe-soil stresses were investigated and preliminary results are presented. This work is part of a broader research programme on soil conditioning and lubrication in tunnelling. Field monitoring and physical modelling of pipe jacks are also being carried out at present.
