Geotechnical effect of heavy metals and salts pollution on liner materials

Landfill clay liners are subject to various pollutants. The most important of these are heavy metals and their salts. These pollutants change the geotechnical and microstructural characteristics of the landfill liner, and it is important to estimate these changes. In this study, Landfill liner materials like Turkish kaolinite, bentonite and natural zeolite (clinoptilolite), metals salts were used.
