Polylactide non-wovens are extensively studied as a 3-dimeasional cell culture material (scaffolds) [1,2]. Due to their poor electrical conductivity properties [3], they have to be coated with conducting material to achieve the possibility for electrical culturing conditions, since studies suggest that electrical stimulation of the cells while in culture improves adhesion and proliferation of the cells [4].Here we introduce a method to produce polylactide scaffolds with electrical properties when coated with semiconducting polypyrrole. With this method, that is chemical polymerization, it could be possible to gain electrical culturing conditions to stimulate cells.
