Calcium phosphates cements (CPC's) are identified as an excellent alloplastic material for osseous augmentation because of the combination of their osteoconductivity, biocompatibility and malleability properties. CPC's have mainly been used as a putty formulation that can be easily adapted to the bony defects. However, due to CPC's lack of viscosity and cohesive properties, they cannot be used as injectable biomaterials in minimally-invasive surgical approaches. To overcome this limitation, a sol-gel technology has recently been developed that allows gels of different CPC phases (e.g. DCP, DCPD and HA) to be formed,
