Effect of Noise on Texture Analysis of MR Images

To enable accurate analysis of medical images, one has to consider several factors related to imaging quality, such as slice thickness, noise and subject movement. We have studied the effect of background noise in magnetic resonance (MR) images to texture analysis (TA) of muscle, bone marrow and fat tissue in order to investigate how much noise different texture analysis methods can tolerate.
