This paper describes mass and enthalpy balances for wood chips pyrolysis experiments performed in atubular reactor at high reactor wall temperature (700-1000 ℃), with quantified solid heating rates (20-40 ℃ s~(-1)) and gas-phase thermal severity. These pyrolysis conditions are closed to ones occurring in a dual fluidized bed gasifierwith a particle thickness of around 5mm. Permanent gases (H_2, CO, CH_4, CO_2, C2H4, C2H6), water, aromatic tar (10compounds from benzene to phenanthrene and phenols), and char were quantified thanks to a multi-analyticalapproach (GC/MS, GC/TCD, Karl Fischer, etc.). Mass balances range from 92% (700℃) to 102% (800℃) andenthalpy balances from 86% (700℃) to 101% (800℃). Char yields decrease from 16.5% (700℃) to 13.3%(1000℃). Quantified tars account for less than 4.5% on mass basis and for 9% of the initial enthalpy of wood.
