The project ANAPUR (2007 - 2009) aims at improving and simplifying gas sampling andquantification methods for a large range of tars and inorganic compounds regarding the detection threshold andoperating limits from industrial systems in the steam gasification of biomass for SNG or 2nd generation fuelproduction. Some developments were necessary with model gas to adapt on-line FTIR and off-line NH3 washingbottle train to measure ppmV levels in a gas from steam gasification process. Finally, on-line (μGC, colorimeter andFTIR) and off-line (washing bottle train, GC-MS, etc) methods were tested in real gas configuration. Most of theadvances were obtained for nitrogen, sulfur and alkali species, some of the most important inorganic pollutants ofbiomass like wood.
