摘要

Bioenergy using wood and non-wood cellulosic fibers as an alternative energy source is getting a hugeamount of attention. The autor analyzes the economics and feasibility of harvesting, handling transporting andintegrating wood and non-wood cellulosic fibers from operations in order to match the various components of the fuelsupply chain. Focussed to biomass energy, a simple sensitivity analysis was carried out at the Aquitaine Region (Southern of France) with increasing biomass yield of short rotation (miscanthus crops) compared with post harvestresidues from the pinus maritimus forest. In the same geografical area, a complementary approach has beenconducted in order to evaluate the impact of a new technology of compression which produces pellets or briquettes asa best raw biomass for combustion. The densification ratio and the moisture content of the biomass were the keyfactors to deliver the optimal price at the entrance of an industrial Combined Heat and Power plant (CHP).
