Application Monitoring in CrossGrid and Other Grid Projects

Monitoring of applications is important for performance analysis, visualization, and other tools for parallel application development. While current Grid research is focused mainly on batch-oriented processing, there is a growing interest in interactive applications, where the user's interactions are an important element of the execution. This paper presents the OMIS/OCM-G approach to monitoring interactive applications, developed in the framework of the CrcssGrid project. We also overview the currently existing application monitoring approaches in other Grid projects.
