CRYOCLIM: A NEW OPERATIONAL SYSTEM AND SERVICE FOR CLIMATE MONITORING OF THE CRYOSPHERE

CryoClim is an Internet service providing cryosphericclimate products, primarily based on satelliteobservations. The service is delivered through a webservice and web portal (www.cryoclim.net). The portalincludes manual searching, viewing and downloadingcapabilities. CryoClim is an operational and permanentservice for long-term systematic climate monitoring ofthe cryosphere. The product production and the productrepositories are hosted by mandated organisations. Thedatabases are connected over the Internet in a seamlessand scalable network, open for inclusion of moredatabases/sub-services. CryoClim provides sea ice andsnow products of global coverage and glacier productscovering Norway (mainland and Svalbard).
