Wave Run-up on Coastal Protection Structures Defenced by Rubble Mound Breakwater

This paper presents experimental measurements of run-up on the vertical wall fronted by an offshore rubble mound breakwater for shallow foreshores. Performance of the offshore rubble mound breakwater on run-up on the vertical wall was studied with five relative breakwater height configurations. Relationship between the representative run-ups is derived from the experimental results. The measured representative run-up was compared with the results of the other prediction formulae. The relative run-up on the wall is found to be independent of wave steepness.
