摘要

Suitability assessment of an area for crop production requires a considerable effort , which can provide necessary information for optimum land use . Agricultural land use has benefited significantly from the use of suitability systems in recent years and this systems have jointly showed their capabilities in the evaluation and assessment of suitable sites for a variety of crops . In the present study land suitability evaluation (qualitative classification) was determined for wheat, barley, safflower, bean, soybean and potato in area of 385 ha from Yakhfarvazan region of Ahar in the East Azarbaijan.by using of Simple Limitation Method (SLM), Limitation Method regarding Number and Intensity (LMNI) and Parametric Methods (PM). Climate, soil and landscape qualities and data attributes which most influence crop suitability combine by the adopted methodology .In this study economic factors are excluded and moderate management is assumed. Results of different methods showed that the most important limitation factors are climate, topography, pH, gypsum, OM, texture and salinity & alkalinity alone or together. Evaluation indices that SLM and LMNI mainly show similar suitability classes which confirm previous results of researchers for different crops. But parametric methods especially square root method which it's results revealed to be more realistic show different suitability classes in many cases. Therefore based on obtained results (especially square root method results), firstly cultivation of barley and wheat and secondly bean, safflower, soybean and thirdly potato can be recommended.
