Abstract: Relative to a standard one-foot diameter globe of theEarth the thickness of the atmosphere is comparable toa sheet of plastic food warp covering the globe. Withinthis thin, fluid membrane long established balances inchemical and radiative processes are being altered byanthropogenic activities. For instance, each year about50% of the carbon dioxide (CO$-2$/) produced by thecombustion of fossil fuels and burning of forestsremains in the atmosphere. This 1% yr$+$MIN@1$/increase in CO$-2$/ traps solar energy leading to arise in atmospheric temperatures known popularly as'greenhouse warming.' Halocarbons from escapedrefrigerants and other sources are destroying thestratospheric ozone layer allowing increased levels ofUV to reach the Earth's surface. To monitor thesechanges in the atmosphere, a global network ofatmospheric baseline stations tracks the health of theatmosphere. Some manned stations are in weatherchallenged locations such as the South Pole,Spitzbergen, Ellesmere Island and the Tibetan Plateau;others are in more benign climates such as Hawaii,Samoa, Tasmania, Reunion, and Kenya. Data from theseand others stations are presented and discussed. !11
