摘要

In general it can be said that the creation of contaminant transport models is beset by many problems. The main difficulty among them is the lack of migration parameters needed to build the models. In Lithuania test data is scarce and hence transport parameters are usually selected in the model calibration phase (the comparison of simulated and actual data) and inverse tasks solution phase. If the monitoring at the test site is organised and the dynamics of the contamination are available, then the observed situation can be reconstructed and the transport parameters calculated. If such information is not available, only published data or comparisons with other sites can be used. The reliability of contaminant transport models depends on the transport parameters as well as on the construction of a good conceptual model and proper schematization of the hydrogeological conditions. Therefore the main task for the creation of future contaminant transport models is an experimental evaluation of the required migration parameters.
