Natural attenuation of trichloroethene (TCE) was investigated at a former circuit manufacturing facility in Clearwater,Florida.As a results of rinsate waste water discharge to storm ditches,groundwate became impacted with TCE and othe rocmpounds.A supplemental remedial design field investigaiton in conjunction with oprevios assessments identified chlorinated aliphatic componds,sepcificlly TCE, 1,2 -dichloroethene (1,2-DCE),and vinyl chloride (VC),as impacting the subsurface at the site.using direct push sample cooection tefhnoliges and statistical evaluation with 3-D imaging,groundwater conditions were xamined to deermine the extent of the imapcted area.if natrual attenuation was occurring in the subsurface,the kfate of TCE and dehalogrenated orducts in site osil and grounwater,and the biodegradation rate for TCE and dechlorinated porducts.
