Suitable test methods for determining the bending strength of thin glass were developed. Both methods needrna nonlinear approach because an additional moment occurs due to the axis forces. Analytical, numerical andrnexperimental investigations for the modified four-point-bending test have shown that the deformation can berndecreased by decreasing the distance between the supporting rollers and the principal stress can be calculatedrnwith the newly developed Equations 7. This Equation considered the nonlinear behavior in the sample duringrnthe testing. Up to now the investigations were carried out for glasses having a thickness 2.0 until 2.3 mm andrna distance L_s = 800 mm.
