Volac micropipettor-a case study showing an imaginative use of design consultancy

摘要

This paper is a case study on the design and development process used for the redesign of the Volac range of micropipettors for John Poulten Ltd. The product was developed following a thorough feasibility and marketing study. A variety of design methodologies wer then utilised in order to bring about a successful product realisation. The management of the project, undertaken in conjunction with PDD Ltd, can be seen to be innovative. It illustraes how design consultancies may be able to work successfully within a Total Design framework.
