BEST PRACTICES AND GUIDELINES FOR SELECTION OF REFRACTORIES IN LIME RECOVERY KILNS

摘要

This paper focuses on the selection and application of high alumina refractories in lime recovery kilns used in the pulp and paper industry. Typical refractory practice for these kilns over the past 25 years is presented as well as an update of refractory selection based on results of cup corrosion testing of newer refractories available in the current market place. Choosing the correct refractory materials is key to helping the pulp and paper industry meet their goals of increased production and reliability of kilns.
