A computer code for the simulation of cargo operations for LNG carriers is developed. The code can simulate all relevant operations for the whole roundtrip. It is used in the planning of the spraying operations where it is necessary to keep the thermal stresses in the tank structure within certain limits during the cooldown period. It can also be used to minimize the heel, and in the planning of various pressure buildup scennarios.
