LNG rollover is the phrase used to describe the sudden release of heat and increase in boil-off rates when a stratification breaks down. Predicting these effects using computer models is important from both a design and operational point of view and their use is becoming more widespread amongst LNG operatives. Although established, refinements to rollover models are still being made however, as new data and techniques become available.
