Developing a maintenance and replacement cabling strategy for medium and low voltage overhead lines - A practical approach

While it is relatively easy to estimate the maintenance costs of the overhead lines from historic data, important uncertainties are the costs of replacement cabling, since they vary depending on parameters like the surface and the underground. To differentiate the cabling costs three classes of habitat density are introduced. The specific costs for each class are estimated as an average value from realized projects.
